With Great Joy…..

With great joy, we would like to announce that K.’s court date took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia today, and she is now officially our daughter!

We are in awe of what the Lord has done. What began as a concern for the millions of orphans in Ethiopia has grown in our hearts in a way we could never have imagined. We are blessed beyond measure.

In addition to this good news, court dates for E. and W. are scheduled for next Tuesday the 23rd. Please pray with us that their court dates will be successful. If that is the case we will be traveling to Ethiopia for an appointment at the Embassy in mid to late February. We have seats reserved on a flight leaving for Ethiopia on Feb. 15th.

We will not be able to bring K. home with us at that time because of additional paperwork that her adoption requires. We hope that Russ will be returning for her in April!

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families. Ps. 68:5,6a

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
