We're Here!

L and J chatting at table

Have you ever wanted to create something, but life was moving so fast that you didn’t have the time, energy, or mental space to make it happen?

That is how I’ve felt about blogging. I loved One Thankful Mom, and I knew I wanted it to grow, but I was held back by my own lack of time, energy, and frankly, skills. I’m not very techy, friends!

Today a dream of mine is coming true with the launch of Thankful Moms.

Inviting Jennifer to join me here was a very smart move. Her gifts balance my deficits, and I’m very thankful to have a friend along on this journey.

I hope you love this new site as much as we do. We’ve had a great time building it – spending hours on the phone and our computers. Jennifer even flew to Idaho so we could work together, side by side.

We want to hear from you – your feedback is very valuable to us. We want to know what you like and what you don’t like. If you find a glitch, leave us a comment because we want to fix it!

Also, if you don’t already follow us on Facebook, please hop over and “Like” us. We share all of our posts there – not to mention, we’re very close to 4,000 likes and we plan to celebrate with fancy coffee when we hit that number.

All of the content from One Thankful Mom has come along with us to Thankful Moms. This is not a turning away, but a growing upward from the roots I put down ten years ago.

Thank you for reading and for being such a dear part of my life. Jennifer and I are truly grateful that you are here and hope that we can serve you even better at Thankful Moms.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

with hope and gratitude,
Lisa and Jennifer

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I am so excited for you both! Today is my 24th anniversary, and to celebrate I am going to take 30 min to read posts I have waited to read guilt free. (hubby sleeping, had to work last night, have a track meet for the kids today and have I have to work tonight, so excited to just relax for 30 min.)
