Wedding Week!

We’re kicking off  Wedding Week! So many good things are coming our way in the next seven days.

Today we’re wrapping up the big yard work projects (I hope) and I have to say, our yard is looking good. Flowers are blooming, the crop of dandelions in our lawn has been conquered, and potholes in the driveway have been filled with new gravel. Somehow Russ managed to put in a vegetable garden in the midst of the wedding projects; I’m not quite sure how that made it on the list, but I’m sure I’ll appreciate it later.

We’ll begin stringing lights today, including the beautiful globe patio lights we bought for Mimi and Andrew’s wedding. I need to make a list of all that needs to be done in the house, too. It looks like it may be cooler than we had hoped, so the rehearsal dinner may end up moving inside, and the reception may move in once Noah and Katie leave for their honeymoon.

Today is particularly wonderful because Hannah and Isaiah arrive home. Katie’s bridal party and more family will arrive as the week goes on. Dimples will be home Thursday.

I need to get off the computer and get busy! I’ll try to update my One Thankful Mom Facebook page throughout the week, if you pop over there, be sure to “Like” my page.  I’ll try to blog a little if I find some quiet mornings.

Thanks for sharing this special time with us.

Lisa

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

We wish you were here too, Joelle. We've done this once before as parents of the bride, but it was four years ago – and it all feels new. We're truly so blessed to have Katie joining our family.
