Time to Lighten Up

Five of my daughters and my friend Michele

My blog has been a bit heavy lately, so tonight I want to lighten up.

While talking about my new blog (in process!), we spent an evening having a hilarious conversation about potential domain names. The next day Honeybee asked me, “Is your blog address NiceMom.com?” I should have thought of that myself!

Last Sunday when we were in Seattle, we had a great dinner at Taste of India. The kids were really hungry, but once we got some food in everyone, we had a fantastic time. Before long, the girls grabbed the camera and started taking pictures. Here is one of the results.

We also stayed with this wonderful family and had the best time getting to know them. They brought their daughter home from Ethiopia about four months ago. Their three little ones were so much fun and my kids loved being with them; not to mention their parents are very cool.

It is almost Friday and I am not traveling to Seattle this weekend. I am hoping to get a lot done and enjoy some time with my family!

Don’t forget to answer this week’s Tuesday Topic – it’s an easy one. You can do it!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
