Thank you for making Honeybee’s Dream Come True!

honeybee-computer

Let me begin this post with a heartfelt thank you to every single person who purchased raffle tickets to fund Honeybee’s trip to Ethiopia. I never dreamed that the outpouring of love would be so great and so immediate. I am amazed at what has happened. Thank you for fulfilling the desire of Honeybee’s heart and increasing her faith, not to mention mine.

Honeybee was excited to see the numbers climbing on her quilt raffle. She constantly checked the computer to see how close the total was getting to making her dream come true. Tonight as she was going to bed, she asked me to come wake her up if her goal was met. Five minutes later two more donations came in and put her over the top!

You can imagine how excited I was to call her downstairs and tell her. She began jumping up and down saying, “I’m going to Ethiopia! I’m going to Ethiopia!” We laughed and cried together. Then I gathered the four girls around me and we prayed, giving thanks to God for His marvelous gifts.

I haven’t closed the event quite yet because I know there are a few people who still want to give. Also, since PayPal takes a percentage, she actually has $1938.09, so I think I’ll keep it open just a bit longer. If we end up with excess money, she plans to use it to fund an outing for the kids at Big AHOPE. She is already imagining them all swimming at the Hilton and eating pizza.

I am off to Seattle this morning, hoping not to hit too much snow on Snoqualmie Pass. I’ll be back Monday evening and our Thanksgiving Break will begin. Sweet Pea flies in Tuesday night; we are all looking forward to having time as a family. We’ll have a special evening when Honeybee selects the winner of the lovely quilt. I’ll be using a random number generator on the computer, but at least she can push the button!

Have a wonderful Sunday.

    Dear Lisa and Honeybee,
This quilt truly found its home. You cannot imagine how wonderful it feels to know that something I made has actually made a difference. What a blessing. Right now I feel like the richest person on earth.
Please know that the guardians will watch you as you travel.

I thought about her dream all day and thought what an amazing thing for all our adopted kids to experience, and even more amazing that your sweet girl asked for it. And she's going! Makes me smile all the way down deep.

Also, on a very minor side note, I nominated you for that Kreativ Blog Award going around:)
