Sunday Visit: A Grief and a Gift

This Sunday I’m featuring In Pursuit of a Toolbox, written by fellow adoptive mom, Tricia.  Her post, A Grief and a Gift, will speak to many of you.  I especially enjoyed reading her About page.

We had 17 here for dinner last night in celebration of Little Man’s birthday.  He loved having lots of college students celebrating with him, and his new dinosaur toys were a hit.

Have a wonderful Sunday, friends.  I’m looking forward to being in church with Russ and my kids after traveling so much.

I’ll have news about our Book Group tomorrow.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I hear it was a great time and Caleb sent me a picture of the fish cake. I know the college kids love coming to your house because you and Russ have created such a welcoming place. PLUS, you always feed them a great home cooked meal when they show up whether it is for a birthday or not. We are so thankful that Caleb gets to hang with the cousins, young and old, and that the young ones want them to come over. Give Little Man a big hug from Aunt Laura!

It was a fun night – we actually had big crowds here both Friday and Saturday. Little Man loves his books – I'm going to read them to the boys today. Thanks!
