Sunday Visit: 70

Do you need some inspiration to take better care of yourself?  My friend Erin, of See Mom Run Far, and Full House, Full Hands, Full Hearts, wrote an amazing post about her journey to better health losing 70 lbs (yes 7-0), and discovering that she is a true runner.

Erin and I met several years ago when we both adopted children from AHOPE.  She was a veteran adoptive mother (at 28 or 29), so Erin answered many, many questions.  We met in person a few times, and especially loved being together at REACH Camp.  Her family is truly wonderful.

Josh and Erin played a huge role in helping us adopt Honeybee – we’ll always be thankful.

Recently Erin wrote this great post “70“.  I hope you’ll take a moment to read it and be inspired.  We mothers often do not take good care of ourselves, but we owe it to our children to do our best.  While I have no intention of becoming a marathon runner as Erin has, her blog has encouraged me to get more serious and committed to my running.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Thank you for this! For a long time I have known I needed a kick in the butt. I lost about 15 lbs before our latest adoption, but have gained it all back in the 1st for months with the new baby. Her post has kicked me back into gear. Thanks!

I look forward to reading her blog.

I lost 30# in 4 months last fall … and was shooting for 100# in a year.

However … due to some unforeseen circumstances, I need to take a break from my weight loss for awhile.

(you'll need to read my blog tomorrow to find out about the unforeseen circumstances)

    🙂 🙂 🙂
