Sunday Gratitude 6.22.14

giving thanks #1401 – 1410

waking up to sun shining on the water

snow covered mountains in the distance

this lovely home on Camano Island, loaned to us for a few days

grilling steaks at 9:00 last night

knowing our youngest kids are happily settled at Laura’s

and they’re going to the zoo, which is super exciting

time to talk, plan, and dream

amazed at the ways God blesses us over and over again

thirty years of marriage – only possible with Jesus

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Having a great time with the kids–shopping with Sunshine (I think that's her blog nickname!?), watching the kids ride scooters and playing with neighbor kids, movie night and popcorn, Sunshine planning our route through the zoo, the boys cheering for Ghana in the world cup because "they are the black guys wearing red from Africa", and trying to get used to the noise at 7:15 am!!! We are so used to our quiet empty nest!

time to talk, plan, and dream…how lovely that sounds, Lisa. And the setting seems perfect for the two lovebirds. Congratulations and may you enjoy every moment of your time together.
