Sunday Gratitude 3.30.14

Is it possible that I haven’t written a Sunday Gratitude post in over a month? I find it hard to believe, but then again, this last month was a tough one for me. I feel like I may be emerging from it and giving thanks is always a good exercise in seeking joy. So here it goes – gratitude for the entire month of March in ten short points.

giving thanks #1281 – 1290

people we’ve never met coming to work on the barn project

march birthdays: hannah and samuel. april birthdays: mimi, andrew, and eby

the ups that follow the downs of homeschooling

addressing wedding invitations with katie this afternoon

a surprise gift of  potted tulips just poking up through the soil

the hill surrounding our home covered by bright green shoots of wheat

my extremely hardworking husband: up early to write a presentation, out working on the barn all day, back to writing the presentation in the evening, still writing when I went to bed last night

family dinners

ladybug playing her ukelele and singing with a friend

hannah happy on her new rotation at the children’s hospital

Join me in giving thanks. What are you thankful for today?

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I'm thankful for family lunches. My mom comes for brunch after church on Sundays. It's busy because my 4 kids get excited to see thie Nan, but I'm thankful they get to spend time with her.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

Today I am thankful for God…just God. I am going through a great big knot of a tough spot in life but God is super big and can totally take care of me through it!

I thought of you today when I read I Chronicles 16:41 this morning: With them were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because His lovingkindness is everlasting.
