Sunday Afternoon at My House

This is what is happening at my house this afternoon. Russ and the girls are on the road to Seattle. I’ll be joining him in the Until Then board meeting via phone in a little bit.

Beth Moore was fantastic. Her love for God’s Word was very inspiring and the time I spent with Sweet Pea was a complete blessing. We couldn’t have planned it if we had tried.

I have a few crazy stories to share as well.
More soon.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Bet you are thrilled to finally have the little boys hair cuts done! Good job Samuel. Have a great day and give my boy a hug for me.

I am so thankful that they finally have haircuts! Life has been hectic and too many details have been slipping through the cracks. I was getting seriously embarrassed by how long I'd let their hair get. It would be fine if they were wearing it in a longer style, but it was quite obviously overgrown. Now they look quite handsome! I definitely appreciate Samuel's haircutting talent — he even cut Noah's hair today.

He should cut Caleb's next time he needs one….I am guessing he won't be making it over the pass often to visit and get his hair cut this winter. Glad little thingsare getting taken care of.

HAHA! I *love* the pictures of the boys getting their hair cut. Especially given how cranky the older guys used to get about getting their hair cut…
