Spring Sports – Win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

The ProNamel® brand has compensated me in connection with statements made in this post. IMG_0896 Spring brings leaves on the trees, flowers in my gardens, and spring sports. I love having my kids play sports – their days are filled with physical exercise, learning new skills, being part of a team, and learning to follow their coach’s instructions. When my older kids were young, we focused on soccer. Games early in the season were often played in the snow, while the last games were in hot weather. IMG_0898 My middle crew competed in track, which wrapped up with Annarose competing in pole vault at the state track meet. I love track meets – although they can be long when your child has one event at the beginning and one at the end. Just to keep us on our toes and push us to learn something new, Ebenezer and Wogauyu play baseball. My friend, Kathleen convinced me that it is the best sport of all, so last year we gave it a try for the first time. The boys learned so much in one season and I’m sure we’ll see them make big strides this spring. IMG_0885Since the first time we signed Hannah up for soccer, my kids have looked forward to the after-game snacks. For a family that didn’t do much packaged food, the little treasures other kids brought were always a treat. Cut oranges during halftime were also a favorite. With my two youngest, we’re not quite the purists we used to be (true confession), although I do still have some snack standards. I also know that no matter what the treat and drink might be, they will come home and brush with a good toothpaste. I like ProNamel® 6-12 Years Toothpaste for Kids, which protects their enamel and helps prevents cavities.IMG_0884 Not long ago I learned that acidic foods, like oranges and sports drinks (often brought for game snacks), are actually hard on kids’ soft tooth enamel. This is especially important as kids who are busy practicing sports will want to keep their teeth healthy from eating acidic foods. This is where ProNamel® comes in. With ProNamel®’s help, we can keep their strong tooth enamel protected from cavities throughout their lives. My kids love the dentist, and I want to keep it that way! Here’s to sitting on the sidelines cheering for our kids – whether it’s soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, tennis – I hope your family has a great season. We do baseball (my favorite to watch), football (my least favorite), and wrestling (which is awesome for busting out anger and helping my sensory seekers get tons of touch). My oldest wants to try soccer next year instead of football, so off wet go into something new 🙂

My favorite spring sport is baseball. My kids are too small right now to sit through a game so it’s something I’m looking forward to in the future.

Our spring time sports don’t quite match up with the rest of the country since I live in Florida. My kids cheer all fall and into winter. Then in the spring is basketball, sometimes a year-round cheer squad. Most sports are year-round here so some families do only one sport. School sports are very limited seasons in middle school here and we’ve never matched up with the rest of the schedule to participate so we do all independent/rec leagues. We feel it’s important to build multiple skills and not over-isolate muscle groups as single sport kids so we run most nights to different places depending on the kid and the week.

My blessing swims. Her favorite stroke is butterfly but she also does freestyle and backstroke. Individual butterfly event and the 10-18 relays are at the end of the meet. Back and free are at the beginning so like you we are there until the very end. If there are 62 events in a meet she swims in event 58. As she gets older it will be later. We both love it though so it’s worth it but I di understand what it is like to have to be there to the very end.
