Soon She'll Know!

I finally got the photo albums and t-shirt from Snapfish and put together our gifts and letters for B. We are allowed to send two small gifts, so I went with Uno for fun and a little necklace for something pretty. The albums turned out darling. I ordered three in order to have one to send now and one to save in case this one doesn’t survive the next few months. I ordered a third one because we have been told that B. may have an elderly grandmother whom we hope to meet if it is possible. I would like her to have an album too.

This will be off in the mail today!

Now I need to focus on N.’s graduation announcement and the invitation to a joint graduation party for Sweet Pea and N. Sweet Pea will graduate from college and N. from homeschool high school on Saturday, May 10th. It is hard for me to believe that we have reached these landmarks, and hard for me to imagine all that I have to accomplish in the next month!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

What an exiciting time for your family! I would just love to be there for B’s reaction when she sees what a beautiful family she has.

I recently found your blog and just wanted to say that I love it! We have 3 bio children, one adopted daughter from Ethiopia, and are currently waiting for our referral of a 3-5 year old little boy from Ethiopia!
We are also a homeschooling family!
You have a beautiful family and I look forward to following your journey to your new daughter!
    God bless!

Graduation is coming up for us as well. You are used to it, but this will be my first time. I will probably cry like a baby watching my baby, esp knowing he plans to join the Marines afterwards.

I am so excited to watch this adoption moving forward! B is going to be so happy to know she will soon have a family. 🙂

How did those fingerprints turn out? I am hoping that they went through with no problems!

    Wow Lisa,
What a beautiful package you’ve put together. I love the Snapfish idea and about duplicating the album. I will do that too…
Sounds like your journey for this adoption is running so smooth. You are so organized and on top of it all…very inspiring. I wonder what a “Day in the Life” of Lisa and her family is like?? Perhaps you might post real soon what that is like for you. “A Day In The Life…” Hmmmmm!
    Blessings to you and yours,
