She’s Going to Fly

This morning, as we prepare for the graduation ceremony, Ladybug is at the state track meet preparing to pole vault. She was thrilled to qualify and her goal is to PR. We are so excited for her – and so sad that we can’t be there to cheer her on in this great moment.

I didn’t want today to pass without sharing how hard she has worked to achieve this goal and what an incredibly cheerful attitude she has had throughout the season.

I couldn’t find a fabulous pole vaulting picture this morning, but I love the photo above of her long jumping. It’s not her normal event, but at this particular meet she competed in it and a photographer caught this great pic. As my friend, Beth, said, this picture epitomizes how Ladybug approaches life – arms wide open and giving it all she’s got.

Whatever the outcome of today’s meet, we are so proud of her and amazed at what she has accomplished.

Now — we are going to spend the next five hours at graduation. I’m glad I’ll have my family with me. Can’t wait to see Samuel and his cousin, Caleb, in their caps and gowns.

Have a great day, friends.

What an amazing photo (both when it's cropped and then showing her in mid-air!) and the pole vault one is great too. What a wonderful spirit you describe. Please congratulate Ladybug on competing and, just as importantly, on her outlook on life. It will indeed take her far that she may even fly.
