Running with Friends

As if we weren’t already running like crazy in our normal lives, today was the first time my new running group met. I am so excited to have friends to run with on Saturdays. Several ladies couldn’t make it today, but those of us who did ran a nice, slow four miles. We plan to add another half mile next week as we train for Bloomsday which is a 12K (7.46 miles). There is talk of a half marathon after that…hmmm…I’m not sure about it yet.

Next up are Ladybug and Honeybee’s dance classes followed by Samuel’s string quartet concert.

Have a good Saturday!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

You go girl!! Wish I could join you. That’s a good idea to be with friends but also to stay fit running after them little ones. Miss ya!

Way to go Lisa! I’m so proud of you out there pounding the pavement. Hopefully after this pregnancy I’ll join the group 🙂

Good job…Running friends have been my sanity through depression, waiting for our adoption and life. Go for the half marathon. It will be an accomplishment you’ll keep coming back to…then it will be the marathon!
