Rockin' Mama Update – and a Prize!

Hello Rockin’ Mamas — all 74 of you!  Just think of all of the love flowing through our families.

It is two days after Valentine’s Day, our official end date.  I was in Seattle at appointments for my girls, and didn’t wrap it up the way I had planned. I am happy to say that moms have continued to join us right up through the weekend!  This Challenge is really about you and your children – my hope was just to share what I am learning and help you get started, so the official end is really not an end at all.

I hope you are all persevering in the Challenge to the best of your ability.  It has been a wonderful process for our family.  Last night Honeybee and I rocked for at least fifteen minutes while she shared the details of a birthday party she attended; she went to bed a happy girl.

I want to encourage you to send me an email update about your Rockin’ Mama experience – so here’s the scoop.

When you send me an email update by Monday, February 21st at 11:59 pm, you will be entered in a drawing for a $25.00 Amazon gift card!  I want to hear the good and the bad about doing this Challenge and hope that when I compile our experiences, there may just be something useful to share with other families on this journey to attachment and healing.

If you have already sent an update, you will be included  — although I would love to hear from you again!

Send your update to challenge@onethankfulmom.com

Thank you, every single one of you, for helping me press on with the Challenge.  Just knowing you were committed made me stick with rocking even when it was difficult at times.  I can see the benefits for my daughter, which flows over into blessing our entire family.  I hope you are finding it to be true for your family as well.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Taking the Rockin Mama challenge was great. Lots of quiet cuddle time. I also used it as an quiet moment to silently pray over my little one.

Thank you for inspiring so many to join your Rocking challenge…..I am anxiously waiting for a court date in Ethiopia and to bring our little guy home to start our Rocking Challenge. But I have shared this with a few of my friends who actually have children with similar symptoms of attachment/bonding issues and are planning on trying the Rocking Challenge to see if this will help their children. I will keep you posted on how this goes for them…..thanks for sharing so much of your life's struggles and triumphs!
