Happy Monday morning, friend.
I thought sometime during my days in Seattle I would have time to write a post; it would be all neat and tidy and ready to go this morning. I was wrong.
The days flew by with the long drive Wednesday and a medical appointment. We had another long appointment at Seattle Children’s Thursday, followed by an unexpected appointment Friday.
Despite the medical stuff, I managed to squeeze in lots of time connecting with my people.
Saturday was a wonderful day at our niece’s wedding followed by a visit with my parents. Sunday morning was spent with my sister and her family, then we loaded up and made the six-hour drive home.
Whew!
It was all good – lots of family, lots of hugs, lots of laughter.
Weddings are good for the soul – so much hope and love wrapped up in two young people who have no idea what God has in store for them. I almost want to wrap them in a cocoon and protect them for a decade or two.
This morning, Claire and I are off to Spokane for yet another appointment. Mercy!
I’m ready to park my car for a few days. Thankfully, we live in beautiful north Idaho where the rolling hills are sprouting bright, green wheat. It will be a glorious drive.
I will be back with deep thoughts on adoption or something important later this week. I truly miss this space – and you – when I don’t have time to write.
What do you have happening this week?
Lisa

We too were off to Spokane bright and early for a couple appointments for Punk. What a beautiful drive. Hope your day goes well.

Some time when you’re in Spokane, I’d LOVE to meet you for coffee. <3

That sounds great – we should plan a Spokane meet up sometime. I don’t come up often, but when I do, I try to make the most of it. Sitting in a waiting room right now!

11 baseball games
2 kids’ field trips (but no chaperoning)
1 pulmonology appointment
1 WIC appointment
1 class science project (I’m doing science with my 4th grader’s class and we’re finishing one this week.)
1 Muffins with Mom morning at school
And… my kids are demanding the last 8 months of allowance I haven’t paid them so they can burn it at the end-of-the-year book fair. At least they’re buying books, right?
Oh, apparently they also think that they will eat this week, and that their baseball uniforms will be washed somewhere in the mix.
In case it sounds like I’m super organized or on top of it, I wish I could share photos of my house right now – you’d quickly see we’re in a full sea of chaos.
I’m trying to enjoy this season of chaos and not be overwhelmed by it. I’ll let you know how that works out 😉

11 baseball games! I stopped right there – we only have five, plus a couple extra practices. At least it was sunny today!

We had sun yesterday too – but a lot of those ballgames are makeups from about 10 straight days of rainouts. Seeing as it is pouring again today, we’ll see how many games we actually get in this week.
I’m posting from a waiting room at the moment, too. Cheers for being on time!
