"Our Little Girl…"

Dimples’ birthday is coming up tomorrow, so yesterday the girls’ good friend (I’ll call her Happy) came home after school and together the three girls made “Dirt Cups” for Dimples’ class treat.  They tied on their aprons and happily got to work, chatting and cooperating; it was a rather amazing sight.

I said, “I sure love seeing you girls working as a team.”

Sunshine replied, “Why is it such a  big deal that we’re working as a team?”

“Well,” I said, ” It’s just nice to see, especially for Dimples.  Dimples, you weren’t able to work as a team before, and now you can.  I”m really proud of you.”

Happy quipped, “Our little girl is growing up.”

We laughed and laughed. It was a fun afternoon.

I had to share this photo of Dimples cooking the afternoon snack while Sunshine and Happy wrapped up the Dirt Cups.  Thursday is her cooking day which generally means frying up copious amounts of potatoes with loads of spices.  Notice the large bottle of hot sauce being generously dumped into the pan.  The other kids drank multiple glasses of water with their snack.

Our friend, Marissa, is driving up from Boise today with her five kids to spend the weekend.  Her husband has been deployed for the past year, can you imagine?  We thought we would help them fill one of their last weekends before he gets home in late November.  It should be a fun, rowdy weekend.

I’ll be back with stories to share on Monday.  Have a great weekend, friends.
