Our Family – Visualized

I’ve gotten a few emails recently asking if I would post something explaining who everyone in the family is. I used to have a very nice “Cast of Characters” with labeled photos for everyone in the family, but it became outdated when Honeybee joined the family. I need to create something new. In the meantime, Rusty made this funny image for me and I thought it was too humorous to delete. We don’t really look like this…I never wear a suit, but Rusty thought that was a better option than the pregnant mommy (Russ would have had a heart attack) or the image that he had already used for Sweet Pea and Mimi. There weren’t quite enough options for a family of 13 with kids ranging in age from 22 to two.

You can make your own stick family at Widdlytinks, or do what I do, and have one of your kids make it for you. What would I do without techy teens?

(Note: I just looked at the post and both Little Man and Rusty are falling off the page. Since Rusty is out of town, I have no idea how to fix this. I considered deleting it…but I’m willing to accept an imperfect post if you are. At least you can get an idea of who we are.)

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

This is so cute and yes, I love being able to hand over an electronic issue to my husband or daughter…I call that good management!
