Our Birthday Boy

Little Man turned two! He loved his birthday cereal, his special dinner, his presents, and best of all, his cake with two candles! Earlier in the day I told him there would be candles on his cake that he would blow out, and we practiced blowing while I held my finger up like a candle. When I carried his cake out to him, he stood up on Rusty’s lap knowing exactly what to do, but he leaned so close to the candle that he was nearly burned! He pulled back when he felt the heat and then leaned forward again and blew the candles out like a pro.

I couldn’t get to him quickly enough to pull him away from the cake and I feared that we would remember this birthday as the one when our baby got burned, or at least when his eyebrows were singed off. I am happy to say that it didn’t happen.

Here are a few pictures. I had to include two of Eby and Little Man because they were so cute.

More cake and ice cream?

He was very enthusiastic about the card that Honeybee made for him.

Being the 11th child, he didn’t need any toys, but our old pounding toy had to be thrown away, so we were ready for a new one. I probably shouldn’t share the details, but in the interest of “keeping it real”, the old toy was stored in our garage and a mouse crawled into it but couldn’t find its way out – it was not a pretty sight when we discovered it.

Seventeen months apart – brothers and best buddies.
