News about our children

We got an email from our case manager with the news that Eby had been admitted to the hospital to have a boil removed from his forehead. She sent two photos of him wrapped in a blanket with a bandage on his head. In one photo he was being held by his nanny who obviously loves him; his face is pressed against hers. I was so sad to think of him having surgery and a bit worried to think of him having surgery in a rural hospital in the third world.

Today I got a follow up email saying he is back at the foster home:
Thankful to report that he is back in the home, playing, eating, being great fun!

He is such a sweet little guy.

I am hard at work finishing K.’s photo album. It has taken me a ridiculously long time to get this done, but it is time consuming managing two adoptions for three children through two different agencies. Hopefully things are going to ease up a little bit now. One of my projects for this weekend is to make a current “to do” list of adoption tasks. We have more paperwork to do for K., a grant application, a little album to put together for Eby, and much more.

I had a t-shirt made for K with our family photo on it and underneath it reads: We Love K….
It is so cute!

We also got one new photo of Little Man!

All is well!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I feel the pain of paperwork! It is amazing how much there is. Thank you for your updates and help thru everything. I am glad Ebeneezer is doing well!

Yay! I was so glad to see the photo of Eby! He is a darling, I am so excited for y’all! Sadly, I can’t see the pictures of Little Man, but it might be my computer.
