Never Give Up Hope

After a slow, snowy drive, we got home from Refresh at midnight last night. I’m still in re-entry shock, but had to share something amazing. I checked Facebook this morning, and this is what I found.

Bee posted the picture above and wrote this,

i am so thankful to have a mom that will never give up on me. love you mom.

This is huge; I can hardly express how huge.

Thanks be to God for his healing power and abundant love.

I hope to write more about Refresh soon. It was a meaningful and wonderful weekend.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Well, that's enough to choke a mama up everytime you think about it! What a precious gift from your girl and your God. Hearing you teach and meeting you in person was a highlight of my weekend, Lisa! Re-entry is always so rough, so I'm praising God with you for these precious words to maybe give you that extra boost of strength as you get everything back on "normal." (Whatever that is!)

How exciting! Did Bee attend any of the conference? So happy for whatever provoked that thought and her ability to express it. Thanks be to God!

She didn't attend the conference, although we talked about what I was speaking on and the story I wanted to share. I think it stemmed from some good work with her therapist and some recent sweet moments together.
