My Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day. The younger children loaded me with handmade and dollar-store purchased gifts that nearly made me cry. The cards were especially precious. The big kids made breakfast and coordinated the younger ones in setting the table. We had a lovely breakfast and then dashed outside for a few silly pictures. I love the one above. We’re going to try the pose again sometime, but we were all laughing so much while Russ was trying to take it, that it looks a little goofy. Of course, the little ones either weren’t smiling, were trying to walk away, or something that wasn’t conducive to a perfect picture, but I still think the result is fun.

The picture below was the happy result of my attempts to cheer Dimples up by putting her on my back. I love the smiles on my pretty girls.

Russ and I are hoping to watch one of the Dr. Purvis lectures tomorrow. See my post below for more information and a link to the videos.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I love it! Nice to see all those adoring children. I’m sure it is like this most of the time…LOL! We had another tough day with baby today, but she is sleeping peacefully beside me now. Talk to you soon.

What great photos! We have watched some of Dr Purvis’ lectures as part of our Gladney adoption training. She’s great! “Hot diggity!” (You’ll understand once you watch some of her training videos.) 🙂

    Cute pics!

I missed all of my kids on Mother’s Day, since I’m in Ghana. But, we had 7 of us chatting on skype at the same time, from 4 continents in 4 time zones. It was pretty cool! We actually chatted (instant messaging) for over 2 hours.

    Hugs!
