My Hero

Noah gave me a fantastic Mother’s Day gift today – he washed my windows!! What more could a mother want?

Having big kids is wonderful. When all of my children were little, I could never have imagined how great it would be to have teens (and now even a 20 and 22 year old). The hard work does pay off.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Sweet Noah. Bless his heart. I know isn't that cool to have older children? I too loved the teenage years and now this age where they are at college. And soon Lisa, we can look forward to our grandchildren!

Maybe Noah would like to give Aunt Laura an Aunt's Day gift! Oh, I guess that is not really a holiday! I do need to get someone up an a ladder to wash my windows some day soon.

Wonderful post…I remember when my grown up children were teenagers…they would plant me a flower garden for Mother's Day. Sweet Memories…

Hi, I just found your blog. My husband and I are wanting to adopt from Ethiopia. I am very interested in possibly adopting one or more HIV positive children. I have just felt that the Lord may be leading us in that direction. My husband needs more information about it. And so do I. Also any helpful information about adopting from Ethiopia in general would be so appreciated. I have more questions, and want to give you my personal contact information. Can you tell me what the best way to that is?
    Thanks and Blessings,
    Michele

Hi, My husband and I are wanting to adopt from Ethiopia. We have not chosen an agency yet. I have felt recently that the Lord may be leading us to adopt one or more HIV positive children. I was wondering if we could get more information on this and adopting from Ethiopia in general. I wasn't sure how to send my email to you.
    Thanks and Blessings,
