This is a big year for Noah. Most significantly, he and Katie are getting married on June 14th. Second in importance (and also quite incredible) he is starting medical school in the fall!
The process of preparing for and applying to medical school is intense. Noah considered med school early on as an undergrad, then changed his mind and pursued a degree in finance. In the midst of that degree, he realized that medicine really was his calling, so he while he completed that degree, he began taking prerequisites for medical school. He took the MCAT, volunteered in the ER at our local hospital, shadowed doctors in the community, and then applied. Noah got several interviews and a good number of acceptances.
While we were supportive of Noah and Katie moving across the country to attend school, we’re quite happy that he chose the University of Washington – not to mention that it is ranked #1 in the country for primary care. The UW medical school is phenomenal. Hannah had a great experience there and it opened so many opportunities for her.
We’re so excited to see what the Lord is going to do in Noah and Katie’s lives. I love seeing my kids find their calling, use their gifts, and serve God by caring for and loving people.
And I have to admit, it will be nice to have another doctor in the family – now I’ll have one more person to text pictures to with questions like, “Do you think this arm looks broken? Should I take him in for an x-ray?” or “What do you think? Is this rash serious?”
