Learning More About Hair

I found a new website, Shuruba, that inspired me to try something new with Dimples’ hair. The woman who created this site has short videos demonstrating how to do hairstyling techniques. I love it! I also joined the Yahoo group, Adoption Hair and Skincare. I have so much to learn, but it was fun trying to make twists. Some of them came out loose and a bit lumpy, but I didn’t have time to redo them. Dimples’ hair is quite smooth, so I don’t think the twists will stay in as well as braids would, but it looks cute. This is far from perfect, but if I can do it, truly anybody can, and it made my little girl very happy.

Miss B.’s hair looks like it has tighter curls than Dimples’ so I don’t think I’ll be able leave it loose very often. That means I will actually have to DO her hair. That must be why I am inspired to practice on Dimples, plus it is kind of fun – what a surprise!

Oh cute! I really like them. And they might stay better in Honeybee’s hair, too.

Dimples is really beautiful! I love the twists. My older girls are excited about having more hair to play with. Maybe this will be their calling.

Lisa, you rock. I have been doing this type of hair for 20 years but I couldn’t have done it any better. I bet Dimples LOVED it. I am so proud of you for trying so hard and educating yourself. A black woman’s hair is her pride and joy! You don’t ever want that hair to look bad. Great Job!
