It's a Boy! AND It's a Boy!

Russ and I would like to joyfully announce that we have accepted referrals for two darling little boys!

Eby is almost two and is incredibly gorgeous. Little Man is two months old and cute as can be.

This has been a long and difficult process for us as we have sought the Lord about His will for our family. We had hoped for so much more information than we got, but in the end we went out on a limb of faith believing that God was leading us to these boys.

My days have been consumed with homeschooling and trying to hold my household together while simultaneously dealing with dozens of emails, dealing with paperwork, consulting physicians, and trying to find quiet moments for prayer and discussion with Russ. I feel swamped, but also relieved to finally be in this new place.

Our case manager is hoping that our children will be moved to Addis on Dec. 15th, if there is room for them in the home there. We don’t have a court date yet, but it could be late February before we can travel to get our boys. That is far too long of a wait for me, but I am trying to be cheerful.

Thank you for praying for us and for checking back. I hope to have bits of happy news to share along the way.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
