Isaiah – Making Life Interesting

Have I ever mentioned that life with Isaiah is never boring?  We’ve spent the last 24 hours discussing his plans for next year, which we thought were pretty well settled, but when you’re seventeen and have loads of ambition and heaps of faith, I suppose the options are endless…

I finally collapsed in fatigue last night and woke up to start talking again this morning.  As of this moment, there are dozens of tabs open on my computer as we search, read, and consider options.  If only Jesus would smack us on the heads and give us a simple answer – but just think of all of the growth and increased faith we would miss.

Dimples made french toast for breakfast and even made plans with a friend for the afternoon.  Yesterday was tough; so far so good this morning.

Sweet Pea’s entire belongings are scattered about our family room as she packs them down and tightly as she can.  It’s a mess!

I just told Isaiah he is killing my brain.  I love that boy.

All for now!

Happy Friday, friends!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

I've been praying for him this week!! I, personally, am quite grateful for Isaiah and his ambition and faith, but I suppose at least in part for selfish reasons 🙂

Thanks for the prayers – he is going to be a great "research assistant" for you in Kenya.

What wonderful days we have all spent together! I guess I can't say anything about growing up fast, I'm the one whos married!:) who would have thought.

He's so young, he's consulting God, he has great faith so he will find what God has for him. If he found that all out in 1 hour, there would be no learning. You are the type of mom he needs…one that guides and doesn't push. He's a blessed boy!
