Introducing Dr Q!

Sweet Pea graduated from  the University of Washington School of Medicine Saturday morning! It was a big weekend with lots of celebrating with family and friends.   Today and tomorrow we are focusing on helping Dr. Q pack for her big move to Minneapolis.  Fortunately, Noah is driving with her and they plan to do a little sightseeing along the way.  He’ll fly home next week.

Tonight we are going on a Big Kid Date to spend the evening together before this big change.  Sweet Pea is spending her days packing and hanging out with her siblings.

I’m resting in the sure knowledge that God is placing her exactly where she is meant to be – but that doesn’t mean I’m not sad.  I’m going to miss her.

Have a wonderful Monday.

Lisa

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

    Congrats, Sweet Pea!!!

I'm so glad that Noah is going to drive with her. I am sure they will be blessed by their time together … and Mama won't be near as worried as she would be if Sweet Pea was making the drive by herself. 🙂

Hope you have a GREAT time with the Big Kids tonight. So important!

    Hugs!

Yeah for Sweet Pea and double Yeah for Noah making the trek with her! Let me know if they need a cozy stop in eastern South Dakota. My parents would be so happy to have them stay the night or pop in for a meal. 🙂

She will love Minnepolis (and what a great adoption community as well!) Good luck!

Congratulations Sweet Pea! It seems like just yesterday you were off to medical school–time flies! And Lisa, yes, you will miss you! I always think THIS is the hardest part of parenting–letting go!
