I Went Live

By Lisa Qualls

Friends, for the first time ever, I did a live Facebook video, and you know what? It was fun!

One Thankful Mom

My first-ever live video! I'm talking about birthdays, aging, and what we have to offer each other.

Posted by One Thankful Mom on Friday, January 12, 2018

I hope you will take a moment to watch, comment, and even share. I love speaking and I can share so much more with you if I do live videos in addition to publishing here.

If you have topics you would like me to cover, questions, thoughts about how I can do this better (and even how often you would like to see Live videos), please leave a comment or shoot me a message ([email protected] or via my OTM FB page).

I don’t know how to change the image above, but the thing about Live is it is unedited, unscripted, so I’m not going to stress about it. This is me at my table talking to you.

Your feedback is a blessing to me.

Press on in the journey, my friends. We have each other and an amazing God who loves us.

Lisa

    Aloha Lisa!!!
What a joy to see your beautiful and shining face! Since I’m not on FB anymore these days, I am so grateful you shared this video here on your blog (which I continue to love, learn from, be encouraged and challenged by and grow as I read it!).
Thank you for continually sharing your heart and your life with all of us. I am a better mom to my kiddos with the little nuggets of wisdom you have shared and continue to share.
May you also know how precious your are to so many of us.
    To God be the Glory!
    Mandy

My honest reflections on family, adoption, and foster care.

I'm Lisa Qualls, the mother of twelve by birth and adoption (and sometimes more through foster care). Thirty-three years ago I married Russ; we had no idea the adventures awaiting us. Once lost, now found, I’m forever thankful for grace. Read More

  • Coffee run to the hospital cafeteria with my sister. We took a mirror selfie in the elevator. Even in the sad and hard, sometimes we have to laugh.
•
So thankful for my parents and sisters.

  • The doctors and nurses are compassionate and kind. This is one of my Dad’s doctors walking with my Mom. He said, “ I will treat you as I would my own mother.”

  • It feels strange stopping for coffee on the way to the hospital to see our Dad. Normal life goes on even when someone we love is critically ill. Should we take five minutes to stop? What will today bring? I’m so thankful for a family that loves well.
•
Praying friends, please pray for the sweet presence of Jesus for my Dad and Mom.

  • Easter morning we volunteered as a family at our church’s big service at the WSU coliseum. Russ and the boys were on the parking lot team while Claire and I were ushers. Zoe was visiting her family. It was sweet serving together. One of my best moments was a young woman asking me to pray with her during the service.

I’m missing my family at home while also thankful to be with my parents and sisters in Seattle. My dad is very sick with an infection in his heart and blood. The pacemaker that was put in three weeks ago will be removed soon. We’ll know more today after some tests.

Our dad has a serious infection in his blood. Prayer is good.
