Russ and I are particularly blessed by the examples of marriage our parents have given us. Today Russ’ parents are celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary. God has led them on many adventures in many countries such as Indonesia, Colombia, New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, and more, but most importantly, He has led them on a journey of faith. Even now they spend much of their time living in Mexico ministering to the people and supporting the local church.
I have so many things that I hope to write soon. Through reading, talking to other parents, and seeking professional help, we are learning more about parenting children who have experienced trauma. My current read is Nurturing Adoptions by Deborah Gray. Has anybody else read it? We are making some changes in an effort to help all of our children be healthier and happier. At the moment we are feeling hopeful and I believe this is due in most part to the prayers of many people. Our burdens do not feel as heavy as they did even one week ago.

I have not been on your blog in weeks. Our computer is messed up. Just now it was working well, so I am catching up on my fav. blogs. How fitting… your post. Today is my and Jeff’s 7 year anniversary. I love reading how years can equal abundance.
To catch you up, we have court on the 27th and have bought a new home that we will move to this month. I’d love to share the story with you sometime!

Praying for you during your struggles and changes. Looking forward to hearing how God is working in your life through this. We are looking at another adoption, of an older child this time, it comes with a little fear as things are going so well with the first two.

I am especially looking forward to hearing about what you are learning for your children! Somedays are better than others. I noticed on your booklist RECKLESS FAITH-wasn’t it good!!

I love Deborah Gray’s Nurturing Adoptions. I learned so much and it did change some of what we were doing. Children who have experienced trauma are just wired so differently it’s hard to know how to parent them sometimes.
