Honeybee is Home

Ladybug and Honeybee – another set of “twins”

A very sincere thank you to everyone who has followed my blog while we have traveled and during the last few days. I appreciate every comment. We are still adjusting to the ten hour time difference; the key to not falling asleep during the day is to simply not sit down – it seems to be working for me. Even while I type this, I can feel the fog beginning to creep into my brain. Maybe my fingers will keep typing even if I’m asleep.

Our first few days home with Honeybee have been wonderful. I know this “honeymoon” stage won’t last forever, but I’m enjoying every minute of it. The moment she saw all of her siblings at the airport, she began to smile and for the most part, we have only seen happiness. Ladybug is so pleased to have a sister her age and is being an excellent mentor to Honeybee who is quickly learning how things work around here and has jumped right into the family routine. She is a very capable child and eager to be helpful.

Just to add to the excitement, Boo lost her first tooth yesterday, and not to be left behind, Dimples lost hers five minutes later. The excitement never ends!

I have many things that I hope to write about soon: travel details and suggestions, visits with our children’s birthfamilies, AHOPE work, our first days at home, and so much more. I also have hundreds of photos to sort through and send to friends (who are waiting for their children), as well as other photos I hope to post here.

Thank you for your prayers, your words of encouragement, and for caring about our family’s journey to Honeybee.

~Lisa

Lisa, thanks for posting these great pics. That’s more than enough for now. I didn’t even realize till now that these ages with your kids are just awesome. You have your two little ones, then you have Dimples and Boo as a set, and now you have ladybug and honeybee as a set. How special is that? Your children are perfectly spaced. Your family is so awesome especially your older ones Mimi and SweetPea for holding down the fort. You have raised amazing young ladies. I thank God for your family.

Welcome home! I look forward to hearing more about your journey. I got to meet Honeybee while in Ethiopia this past spring. She totally destroyed me in this game they play kind of like jacks. I can’t remember the name. She was ridiculously good (and I was ridiculously bad!)!

I am happy to hear that everyone arrived home safely. I am eager to hear more when you get to posting after you settle in. Talking with you about the program we want to start for AHOPE will also be nice when you get that time, but I know it will probably be a while before that happens (understandably).

    Continued prayers,
    Angela H.

Thank you so much for posting he pictures. You have such a beautiful family. I am so happy for you all.

You maeanioned the honeymoon phase. Our 9 year old daughter has been home 4 months. All we have seen with her is a wonderful child. She is amaizing. With our 3 year olds illness, I think that the honeymoon would have ended, IF her behavor wasn’t actually normal for her.

Praying for a smooth transition for you as well.
