Heading Home (and Win Forever Mom)

I miss these faces!
I miss these faces!

I’m on my way home to Russ and my sweet ones this morning. This time with my extended family has been very dear to me and I’m glad I came. I’m in that funny space of being sad for this to end and totally ready to be home again and jump back into life. Too bad it takes so many hours to get all the way back across the country.

With all of this vacation fun, I forget to post a reminder of my giveaway for Mary Ostyn’s new book Forever Mom: What to Expect When You’re Adopting.

I’m extending the time to enter to tonight, October 28th, at midnight PST. You can find the details in this earlier post. Be sure to enter to win this great book.  Since I’m traveling, I may not be able to approve your comments, but don’t worry, I’ll get them all and approve them after I’m home.

When I wake up tomorrow morning, I’ll have one more teenager in the house. Dimples is turning 13 – can you believe it? She is super excited and has been talking about this for at least eight months. I’ll have four teenagers until mid-January when Isaiah turns 20.

I sat down at the hotel computer to print my boarding passes; it’s time to run back up and zip my suitcase closed before heading to the airport. Have a great day, friends. I’ll see you when I’m back home in Idaho.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
