Russ and I weren’t able to travel to Montana, but we still managed to get away. We hated to let all of the good childcare and preparation go to waste! Our dear friends offered us their house on Lake Coeur d’Alene, and it is beautiful.
The sad part of the weekend is not visiting Dimples, but we were able to have a long Skype session with her and her therapist. She was able to talk about some big feelings, and I think we did a good job supporting her.
I had more labs on Thursday, and see the hematologist on Tuesday. The shots continue and sometimes they are tough, but I remind myself that I am only doing a grand total of fourteen. No whining allowed.
The weather here is dramatic, which is wonderful when you are tucked in a lovely home with huge windows to watch the show. Yesterday we had blowing snow followed 20 minutes later by calm water and lovely sunlight.
giving thanks #1071-1080
our older boys taking care of their younger siblings
Emily arriving to ease the workload
generous friends who bless us so much
quiet, so quiet
long talks with Russ
time to evaluate our lives
writing while watching birds land on the lake
the Lord Jesus who gives us joy in the midst of difficulties
9 1/2 hours of sleep (I didn’t know it was possible)
the hard things that draw us closer to Jesus
What does your weekend hold? What are you thankful for?
