Free Music and Family News

My friend, Shelley, told me about a musician, JJHeller, who is offering her newest CD as a free download through Nov. 1st. I downloaded it a few weeks ago and we love it. The music is great to play in the kitchen while we work.

Best of all, I love to hear my kids singing:

You make life worth living. You make me want to start giving more and more away to you. It’s not mine anyway.

Definitely take a minute to go to JJ’s site and download her CD. You can make a donation to thank her for her music, but it is not required.

In family news, I took the kids to the Fall Carnival at our church which was lots of fun. We lost Eby for awhile, but he was hanging out in the maze with Darth Vader and he wasn’t the least bit worried about it. I have some cute pictures, but due to technical difficulties, I can’t get them off my camera at the moment. I’ll try to upload some later.

Yesterday afternoon we had a family meeting where we discussed our calendar for Nov. and some of December. Then we ate ice cream sundaes and carved pumpkins. We were laughing remembering that last year Eby ate a bunch of the pumpkin innards as he dug them out. This year he had more fun flinging it all into a bowl.

Thanks for stopping by.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
