Field Trips, Speaking, and a Scratch

Crazy days are continuing as we wrap up our school year. Today I am in beautiful Coeur d’Alene on an end-0f-the-year homeschool field trip with three of my girls.  We are having an amazing time; Idaho is beautiful!  This picture was taken at an infinity pool overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene.

Tomorrow I speak at my church women’s retreat.  I’m thankful for the opportunity to share such a special day with the women of my church and to teach in a new environment.  My topic is Our Identity in Christ: You are Not an Orphan. I’ll be speaking about our adoption as children of God.  I love this verse:

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God. 1 John 3:1

In the midst of all of this, yesterday morning I scratched my cornea as I was drying my hair.  The pain was incredible – imagine on the floor, curled up in a ball, waiting for it to pass, kind of pain.  Our eye doctor got me in within the hour and found a rather large and deep scratch.  She put a protective contact lens on my eye and prescribed hourly eye drops.  It has not been fun, but I am doing my best not to let it interfere with our special field trip or preparing for the retreat.  I see the eye doctor again this afternoon.

      Mavis, thanks for asking. They did record it, but I don’t know if it will be available; I’ll find out. I have a link to an audio recording from an earlier conference that I will try to share soon.

    I would love to hear your talks too. And I too have scratched my cornea before. It is amazing how it can affect your whole body! I hope it is feeling better. I am late reading this because we were out of town too.
