Thank you Lisa for sharing this. I have viewed a few of Dr. Purvis' online videos and have found them helpful, I have also read her Connected Child book, but I haven't gotten the Christian guide.
I posted about the giveaway on my blog and subscribed to the Empowered to Connect RSS Feed. I know it will be helpful to read. I already subscribe to your blog on my Google Reader.

Hi Lisa, the DVD has two lectures, both approximately an hour long. The first lecture focuses more on the brain and child development, while the second gives more practical strategies for working with our children. I am watching it for the second time now and it is a great DVD.

I'm in a group with a handful of mothers and we recently saw one of Purvis video's – Effective discipline strategies – together.
I like the way she prioritises the needs of the body, the spirit and the soul.
Kids need an empowered body first, then a deep sense of connection for the spirit and then – based on those – the correction.
It gave us a really good conversation – we could all relate to this.

I'm so thankful I found your blog recently – it has offered encouragement at times when I really needed it. I'm agreeing with the second post from Lisa – wanting some more practical ideas for dealing with difficult behavior. I'd love to see you write an article on that at some point. How do you deal with/help your child when they are screaming or running away, and how do you balance that with caring for your other kids?

I'm hoping to check out more of Karyn's work! I'm finding that so much of the attachment/trauma etc information can be applied to the child victims of Human Trafficking that I will be a house mom for! The girls can come to live at SLP at any age and stay until they are 18. I've already passed on Deborah's book and the Empowered to Connect website to our or Residential Program Director. Enter me to win! I'm applying to the RSS Feed as well. 🙂 So exciting!

Such useful information when dealing with all children! I'd love the videos. I looked at purchasing them just the other day, but I have to wait until another payday to do it if I don't win.
