Empowered to Connect Giveaway Winner!

Labor Day weekend comes at such an odd time – just as we are ramping up and focusing on school, we take a long weekend.  I’m always a bit torn about the interruption, but Labor Day weekend also means a very special family event, REACH Camp.  My kids talk about camp all year, keep in touch with camp friends, and eagerly look forward to it.  Yesterday morning as I was waking Honeybee for school, I heard Little Man stirring, and then his little voice said, “Eby, wake up, only two more days until REACH camp!”

Ladybug is eager to get on the road, so she has taken it upon herself to pack for her little brothers, put laundry away, and tidy up the house.  I’m dragging my feet a little knowing that I have many details to get in place before leaving for a few days.  I am happy to say that this is the last time I will pack for my family for a few months.  We love going on adventures, but we’ve had quite a stretch of being away from home.

What you really want to know is not how many fillings my family got this week (a shocking four!), or what Honeybee is getting for her birthday next week (I’ll let you know when I know), but who won the Trust-Based Parenting: Creating Lasting Changes in Your Child’s Behavior DVD from Empowered to Connect and Dr. Karyn Purvis.

The winner is Angela W who writes the blog, The Wellspring of Life!

Thank you to each one of you who entered, subscribed to ETC’s RSS feed, my RSS feed, liked One Thankful Mom on Facebook, etc.  Angela, I hope you don’t mind waiting until after the weekend for me to get your DVD in the mail.

Empowered to Connect released a new video yesterday of Karyn Purvis speaking on the topic of Counting the Cost of the Journey. It’s a good one and definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Wow – thanks so much! I'm so excited to win 🙂 Our adoption support group just watched some of Dr. Purvis' videos tonight and are gearing up for Empowered to Connect in Nashville. I absolutely don't mind waiting a bit! Enjoy your weekend at camp.
