Back from the Big City

I’m here, I really am. My trip to Seattle was good on many levels. Russ and the five youngest drove home Thursday night while I stayed to visit my parents and flew home late Sunday night. All day I have wanted to sit down at my computer and blog, but my children and home needed my attention. I even started a post this afternoon until I realized my priorities were clearly not in order and I needed to cook dinner.

My mind is swirling with blog posts about everything from Attachment therapy to my new candle rings, but for now, I must go to bed.

Best of all, tomorrow is Forever Day! Due to Ladybug’s piano recital at 6:30, we aren’t celebrating with Doro Wat until Wednesday. I realized at dinner that when our dear friends, Rick and Signe, meet their son in Ethiopia this evening, it will already be February 24th for them. We are happy to share such a special day with them.

I have pictures to post and lots to say.

Until tomorrow,

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.

Sounds like a fun weekend. How special that Russ would take the kids home and let you have a weekend with your folks.

We’ll look forward to reading more tomorrow.
