A Little Getaway

We took a short hike on Tubbs Hill where a nice lady took our picture.

Russ and I were very blessed to get a little break this weekend. We had the rare opportunity to get away. The big kids took care of the little kids and when we arrived home today they were all content, happy, and eating ice cream sundaes. We had a great time relaxing and even had long, uninterrupted conversations.

Russ was looking handsome, so I took some pictures of him.

We took this goofy picture of ourselves with the resort in the background.

Staying at the Coeur d’Alene Resort was a huge treat. They gave Russ a deal for having hosted an event there and because he told the nice lady that he wanted to bring his wife (who has ten children) there for a special weekend. She took pity on us and even upgraded our room.

I found these two pictures on our other camera when I got home. It looks like the little boys had a great weekend too.

E. loves to make us laugh.

I am very thankful for the husband the Lord gave me and for over 23 years of marriage. God is good, marriage is good, life is good.

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
