5 Tips to Save Your Summer

Worry becomes anxiety, and anxiety becomes fear for some parents as summer approaches.

It was a hard, sometimes desperate time for our family as we juggled many needs and severe dysregulation with our kids from “hard places.” I needed help, but my brain was too tired to figure it all out.

Does this resonate with you? Are you concerned about what will happen after the last day of school?

I have a suggestion. Download my free ebook, 5 Tips to Save Your Summer, from my new podcast website, The Adoption Connection. Look for the link in the top right corner of the page.

I hope you find the ebook helpful and hopeful.

If you get my newsletter, you already know I’m launching a podcast, The Adoption Connection, with my friend and co-host, Melissa Corkum. We both love teaching, connecting people, meeting needs, and it goes without saying that we both love to talk.

And cool twist, together we make up all three parts of the adoption triad. Melissa is smart, funny, young, and did I mention smart? I couldn’t pull this off without her.

I’m starting to map out our summer. Our family has a lot of travel coming up, although not much of it includes me. At the moment I’m okay with that, having been gone so much the last two months. We’ll see how I feel in July.

Annarose and Claire will definitely take the prize for the most airline miles earned.

My friends-letter, 5 Thankful Thoughts, will land in your inbox tomorrow. It’s short, sweet, and helpful!

Let me introduce myself. Russ and I are the parents of twelve children by birth and adoption, and sometimes more through foster care. I'm the creator of One Thankful Mom which has been as much of a gift to me as to my readers. In 2011 I became a TBRI® Pracitioner* and have lived and breathed connected parenting ever since. I'm deeply honored to be the co-author, together with the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, of The Connected Parent; it is her final written work. I love speaking at events for adoptive and foster parents. I'm also the co-founder of The Adoption Connection, a podcast and resource site for adoptive moms. I mentor and encourage adoptive moms so you can find courage and hope in your journeys of loving your children well.
