I just have to say that I laughed when I saw this, because just yesterday I was wondering if I could put my 3.5 yo in the Ergo while I did something (can't remember what it was now - duh!) I remember thinking that I might collapse under his weight...you are one strong woman!

That is some really good exercise. And having seen him in person, he is a pretty big guy. Its so nice to have the older girls home. My Danica is home for good now until September. Hopefully our older kids will love each other's company at camp.

Thank you for all of the great comments. Who would have known so many of us would be carting our "little ones" around?

Jen, thank you for your prayers - really, I am humbled.

McNew Family, yes, take your Ergo to China!! Your daughter may love it and chances are very good she will be much smaller than my big boy.

Your comments are very encouraging to me - thank you everyone.

Lisa

Your picture reminds me of a sight I saw a couple of years ago at our farmers market.
There was a Nigerian family working as vendors, serving food from their homeland. The mom was pregnant and they had a two year old daughter hanging out all morning while they worked. Their daughter began getting tired and restless so her mom put the little girl on her back (like your 4 yr old). Except she had no carrier. The daughter just hugged her mom and the mom stooped over a little and used her elbows to pinch her daughters arms to her side and kept right on serving customers. The most amazing thing about this picture was that the girl was fast asleep in no time looking perfectly content on her mother's back.

Thank you for sharing your families stories. They have been a blessing to read.
Bonnie

SO glad I am not the only one with a 50+ pound 4 year old who likes to be carried!!

Honestly, I love that he turns to me frequently to be held. I know the day will be here too soon when I would give anything to hold him like I do now.

Amanda

Lisa,

Thank you for all that you share with us!!! I have been reading for a long time but never posted.

I need a pack like that for my daughter. She is 7 but weighs only 40 on a good day. Her diagnosis FAS, RAD, ODD, and general anxiety disorder. Because she is so lanky I can not carry her on my hip any more. But, she would love to be on my back.

I am so glad that you are getting the help you need. It took us 3 years (our daughter has been home for 3.8) to find the right therapist.

As I pray for my family at night, I pray for Dimples, Honeybee and all the rest. Thank you for sharing your heart. Love the outside tent playhouse.

Jen

We LOVE our Ergo. I put my 3 year old in it as well as my 15 month old and our future Ethiopian bebes will be carted around as well. (I think we might have to get another one!) That is the best picture. We are close to sending out our dossier!!

Marie,
Thanks for your encouraging words. I also feel sad when I see so many babies being toted around in plastic carseats rather than in their parents' arms. There is a time and place for carseats, but I always like holding my babies.

Julie, the carrier is an Ergo and it is great for babies and toddlers.

Lisa

I had to laugh when I saw your picture. I had my Ergo in hand this morning, thinking I should pass it on. We are headed back to Ch*na soon to bring home our 4 year old, 2nd SN daughter. Do you think that I should go ahead and pack it "just in case"???? LOVE those Ergo's - I wish I had one when my bios were little!
