A big thank you to everyone who has stopped by my blog in the last few days. Your encouragement and comments mean so much to me. If you are new to A Bushel and A Peck, and found me through Empowered to Connect or We Are Grafted In, thank you for taking the time to click over to my blog. I hope you’ll get to know me and that I can be of some help and encouragement to you. If you would like to get to know me and my blog a little bit more, you can check out my About Me page, and my FAQ’s — or not, either way, I’m glad you are here.
I’ve spent the morning packing for REACH Camp which is a very special event for our family. REACH is a camp for families that are impacted by HIV/AIDS and our kids look forward to it every Labor Day weekend. I enjoy it too, but it comes at a tough time with school just getting going. This is our fourth year attending and it will be especially nice to see families we’ve been getting to know just a little bit better each year.
Camp runs from Friday afternoon through Monday when everyone will head home except for me, Honeybee and Dimples. Since we will already be in western WA for camp, the three of us will stay behind to see the girls’ therapist and make the trip back on Tuesday afternoon.
The DVD, A Sensory World: Making Sense of Sensory Disorders, from TCU and Dr. Karyn Purvis arrived today! Since I am on my way out the door, I gave it to my friend Beth and asked her to preview it for me. I’ll watch it next week and let you know what I think. I should add, nobody asked me to review this and I get absolutely nothing for recommending it, I’m just hoping it will help me with my kids!
My prayer for the weekend is that my children will be light hearted, that we will laugh a lot, and that Russ and I will have some moments of quiet when we can simply take a breath.
Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend – I’ll be back next Tuesday with a new Tuesday Topic!
~Lisa

We are going to miss you all so much! If only it weren't so far…and after school has started.
I found your blog by searching for Ethiopian adoption videos and watched your beautiful video on YouTube. Your family is beautiful! I enjoyed reading "about you" and your reasons for homeschooling. May the Lord bless you and your family!
Haha, I am spent just packing for my 4 little ones but I guess I just started right after work. Well, I am counting down the hours. Can't wait to see you there. It been a long time "talking"…
