It was a full day! Each Thursday I have a Bible study with my friend, Kathleen. She lives in Seattle and I live in Idaho, so we meet on the phone, which could be weird, but it works for us. Kathleen is an amazing mother to some big kids and two great boys from Kenya and we share many common experiences as adoptive moms. I look forward to our study every week and I am learning so much.
The rest of the day flew by and by 4:00 I managed to have the house pulled together and dinner in the oven. Then Russ and I did our “divide and conquer” routine — I took four girls to soccer and he took the two little boys to Samuel and Rusty’s track meet.
The good news is that Samuel qualified for the State track meet in Boise! I’ve been in denial about traveling to Boise next week, but now I am excited for him and although I haven’t figured out a single detail, I’m sure it will be great.
I blogged today over at Grown in My Heart, so please stop by if you have a moment!

We think we might have our first track runner qualifying for State this year. Right now, he is in the top 4 at the tri-district level … in all 4 of his events … and the top 3 in each event will go on to State. Our State will be over in Cheney, the week after you go to Boise. Hmmm … maybe we'll find a way to swing down your direction.
We have had 4 previous track runners make it as far as the district meet … just 1 step away from the State meet. And, actually, another son went to State last year as an alternate for the relay team. So, he went … but didn't end up running.
Yea for Track! Right now, the only time I get to see my 2 teens is at their weekly track meets. So sad.
Laurel :)
Laurel, I hope your son makes it to State – it is so satisfying for them to do well. Russ and I were just saying this morning that between soccer, track, and trips to Seattle, we have hardly seen each other. I miss my husband!
WooHoo for Samuel…tell him the Sutton's say "run like the wind". Have fun in Boise.
Thanks – I'll pass your message on!
Congratulations to Samuel.
We have a week till district to see if we make state. Praying for health and stregth till then. Then the wedding the next week!! Yikes!!!
Donna, wow two big events so close together! Mimi's wedding is July 17th and we have SO much to do. We needed to wrap up our school year (almost done), but now we should be able to get lots done.
Actually it is three. One daughter's wedding is June 5th and one in July 3rd. Then we have till mid August before Drew has to report to WSU.
Oh! I love Kathleen too :) I can see how you two would be great friends.
