I woke up this morning feeling great, in love with Russ, my kids, my life…then just before getting ready for church I got hit with a wicked headache. It was fierce enough to take me to the couch where I remained while Russ got the younger kids ready for church. The pain began to ease, but not enough for me to make it through the service, so off they went without me.
It is unusual for me to be home alone…so quiet and peaceful. My head began to feel better, good enough to clean up the breakfast mess in the kitchen. I remembered the book my friend MB gave me earlier in the week and picked it up. The story is sweeping me along.

yes! it is such a fabulous book. my husband enjoyed it too! sorry about the headache, but yeah for a few moments alone. :)
The things a mom's got to do to get 5 minutes peace! ;o) Yes, I really liked "Same Kind of Different As Me" a lot…..It was interesting to me to get the perspective of this man being from the South, because I grew up in Atlanta. I think it's hard for some of us to even relate to the kinds of experiences someone from the other side of the tracks has had in our own country….I also was encouraged to see how God moved through one woman's obedience… If you liked this book you'd really like "The Blindside" movie….
I'm reading "Cutting for Stone" right now (LOVE it)….I also read "The Hole in Our Gospel" earlier in the year….It's a great book for helping others understand our passion for adoption and orphan care, combined with the story of how God called Rich Stearns to lead World Vision….
Yes, My husband bought a dozen copies and we have them circulating amoung our friends! Challenging story.

GREAT book! Reading the "sequel" or follow up book that shows how SKDAM changed the lives of regular readers was equally inspiring to me. It gives some examples of how ordinary people, like me, have taken the inspiration and lead of Deborah and used it in their own lives. NEAT!
I finished this book recently. I LOVED it! It has great storytelling and I did not want it to end….I laughed, cried and ended hopeful. Hope you like it too!
