I’m on a roll with giveaways!  Mary Ostyn (Owlhaven), has written a great book, Family Feasts for $75 a Week and you’re going to love it.  The first four chapters are packed with ideas, worksheets, and great advice on how to plan, shop, and cook frugally, while still feeding your family delicious meals.  The following nine chapters are loaded with family-friendly recipes.

Family Feasts is a great refresher for more “mature” mothers, and would also be a wonderful help to younger women just starting out. It would make a great Christmas gift for anyone who shops, cooks, and eats.

Try a few of her recipes and see what you think.  A few great ones are Hearty Meatloaf, Mary’s Homemade Granola, and DIY Taco Seasoning Mix.

If you (sadly) don’t win, you can buy her book for $12.21 on Amazon and I’m quite certain you’ll make your money back in savings from what  you learn from Mary.  The complete title of the book is,  Family Feasts for $75 a Week: a Penny-wise mom shares her recipe for cutting hundreds from your monthly food bill.  It’s a mouthful, but the book is just what is says.

You can enter in any of the following four ways, just be sure that you leave a separate comment for each entry.

1. Like the Owlhaven Facebook page.

2. Follow Mary on Pinterest (I do).

3. Follow me on Pinterest (or like my Facebook page if you haven’t already) .

4. Share one way that you save money as you shop and cook for your family.

I’ll announce a winner early next week.

Tomorrow I’ll tell you about another giveaway that a friend is running on her blog – don’t miss it!

Have a fantastic weekend, friends.

Lisa

Something I like to do to save money is shop at Wal Mart where 1. Things are cheaper. and 2. You can price compare if you bring competitor's ads.

I save money by buying healthy foods in bulk from a buying coop and by splitting some of the bulk orders with friends if it's too much for us to use in a reasonable time.
