Today was Samuel’s first day of school. At seventeen, he entered a formal classroom for the first time at the local university. It has been a joy to homeschool him and we are excited to watch him begin this new part of his education. He even let me take this picture with his favorite childhood  lunch box. I love that kid.

Today was also Honeybee and Dimples’ first day of school. They came home happy and tired. As I’m writing, Sunshine is quizzing Honeybee on her spelling words.

Rusty’s schedule is finally figured out, including three classes at the local high school, homeschool classes, an internship, athletics, music lessons, and other activities.  He is going to be a busy guy!

I’m ready for some new Tuesday Topic questions and would love to hear from you. If you have a question you would like me to present to my readers, please email it to me at: lisa@onethankfulmom.com and put Tuesday Topic in the subject line.

Thank you for sharing my life! I hope to be back soon.

    Lisa,

All the kids look like they were ready for their first day, but Samuel gets my vote for cutest picture that made me smile! That was adorable. May God bless each of your kids as they pursue their studies.

Ack!! I started crying…. my daughter's first day of school is coming up. She's almost 17 and going to college. It suddenly is starting to hit me!!!!!!!!!!

Angela, I've done it four times now and I cry every time! The real killer was when Sweet Pea moved to Seattle — I missed her. Fortunately Mimi and Andrew live nearby and everybody else is still home. Is your daughter moving far to college?

My godness you have handsome boys! I love Samuels pictures, what a nice son to post with the lunch box.
Glad to hear the girls had a great day too. They look so cute together.
    How does Ebay like kindergarden?

Kathrin, Eby just started doing some of his Kindergarten work today — because Sunshine wanted to help him. He is very excited to learn to read! We aren't officially starting our homeschool year until next week – I still have lots to do to get ready!

Hi Lisa! The photo of Samuel and his lunchbox cracked me up!! What a great sport! My poor husband (32) is finishing up his PhD at the moment. Poor guy has had to endure my 'first day of school' photo urgings year after year…complete with a little lunchbox to make us laugh! With a career of teaching (old Testament theology), he's bound to have countless more taken! Thanks for the post!

Andrea, I know this so well! Russ finished his PhD at 30 and is a professor. I love the beginnings and endings of the academic year and life. Congratulations to both of you on his upcoming completion of his education.

Donna, tell Drew to watch for us at church – we're hard to miss. He'll find us near the back (no surprise). We would love to meet him!
