A friend of mine will be going to Ethiopia in two weeks, so today I sorted through photos to find some for her to take. She will give them to extended family members of our children as well as to some of the staff who cared for them. The photos are a random collection, including some from our visit to Ethiopia and particularly our visit to K’s family. Her uncle is an Orthodox priest and you can see him along with his family standing in front of K’s former home. There are also two photos of W. in the family baptismal gown that has been worn by four generations of babies, including me. The photos span the time from our visit to Ethiopia in March to a few that I took today. I hope you enjoy them!

As you can see I am making very slow progress on telling the story of our trip. I did, however, upload photos to Shutterfly from the CWA care center and our trip to Sodo. Most of the photos were taken to show parents in the U.S. photos of the children they are waiting for, but there are also photos of region our boys are from. You can view them by clicking here.

Joy visited K. on her last day in Addis. We are so thrilled to have new pictures.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog.

My friend, Joy, did coax some smiles out our boys! It lifts our hearts to see E. smile and W. is such an adorable little fellow. We can’t wait to see these little guys; we love them so much already.

We are going to have so much fun playing with our boys!

The mom who sent me this picture kindly told me that E. looked “well fed”. In a country like Ethiopia, we consider this a blessing. My friend, Joy, sent me two movie clips of E. which I will try to add to my blog at some point. We have not yet seen him smile….but I believe we will coax some smiles out of him once we get him in our arms. I’m thinking about balls, cars, bubbles, and other little toys that might delight him.
