I have a great giveaway for you today. I know, you’re probably shocked because I haven’t done a giveaway in a very long time. Truth be told, I have a problem with going to the post office, and giveaways mean going in a timely manner. But this giveaway is long overdue.
I am giving away a DVD featuring Dr. Karyn Purvis and the work of the TCU Institute of Child Development. The DVD, ”Empowering, Connecting & Correcting Principles” is a fantastic educational tool for adoptive/foster parents, family members, educators, and anybody else who interacts with children from “hard places”. Dr. Purvis is one of my heroes and I’m very blessed to call her my friend. If you don’t know her work, you really must read The Connected Child and enter to win this DVD.
You can enter the giveaway four ways:
1. On Facebook, “Like” the Empowered to Connect page.
2. On Facebook, “Like” my One Thankful Mom page.
This is a little risky because I just began my foray into Pinterest yesterday and I have a grand total of 15 pins, but I have plans to add boards and pins I think you will like. I just pinned an Advent reading schedule for children, following stories in The Jesus Storybook Bible, which is a huge favorite of ours. I plan to follow it with my youngest children.
4. If all else fails, there is one more option.
If you don’t do Facebook or Pinterest, leave a comment telling me what one topic you would like to see me write more about.
You are welcome to enter in all four ways, just be sure to leave four comments so I can give you credit for each entry. I’ll choose a winner early next week and I promise, somehow, I will make myself go to the post office and mail this DVD.
Happy Friday, friends.
Lisa

Thank you for doing the giveaway — we are waiting for our 4th right now, and I want to refresh my attachment knowledge!
I liked Empowered to Connect on fb. I am a big fan of the Karen Purvis DVDs, but don't own this one yet.
I stumbled into your blog by accident. I live on the other side of the world in India. I love your writings about adoption and trauma and am learning so much from your blog.
Thank you, Adwiti. I'm so glad you found my blog.

I already liked you on FB. (And don't do Pinterest.)
I know you've written extensively about it already, but I love the way you have chosen such a variety of educational options for your different kids at different times. Also–it would be great to hear about your adult children's perspectives on how they feel about having been homeschooled through graduation–the ups and downs.

I am new to your website, but own and enjoy The Connected Child. I echo almost all the topic ideas suggested thus far, my favorite being "navigating the feelings for/connections to birth families." Thanks for the chance to win!
I "liked" ETC's FB page!!
I "liked" your FB page…. a long time ago but that still counts, right???? :-)
Followed you on Pinterest!!
I liked you facebook!
And I really dont have a suggestion for you on what I'd like to see more. I love everything you write and was especially challenged by your "Tell It Well" testamony. I look forward to many more opportunities to be challenged as a parent of children from hard places!
I really would love to attend the Refresh Conference in Feb, but the travel cost is a bit much on our already tightened budget belt, so receiving the Karyn's dvd would be huge!
And I would love to hear more of the beginnings of adoption. Why someone should do it and how to be encouraged by the legal tape, money and waiting period… all before the joys and challenges of the children at home.
I liked "Empowered to Connect" facebook page. :)
liked the' Empowered to connect' page. I also learn much from you blog and facebook page. Blessings!!

I love reading about all topics related to adoption. I'm just happy to have found your blog again; I used to read, stepped away from blog-reading for awhile, and then couldn't find your blog again. I just happened to come across a post on Pinterest that linked to your giveaway. I love Karyn Purvis, so I went to check it out, and was SO happy that I'd found your blog again! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
